Hoping for a break?

As many others theses days I just hope for a break from the worldwide madness. But a break is not in sight. Unfortunately.

There was another Christian holiday this week, so many people in Germany had another long weekend. Since I am located in the Northern part of the country, we had no holiday. But certainly it effected me and my work in the sense that it felt I was basically the only one working. Means: more waiting for replies. Very annoying and time consuming – three of my projects are still in the pipeline because of this.

At least two more article were published, one about the resistance fighter Kurt Huber from the White Rose and one about the German Kaiserreich. You can check them out here:

I also checked some scripts and texts written by my authors. Two videos gone into production and will be ready for upload soon. Finally, some progress, since there was a lockdown in the video production for about 6 weeks. I also reorganized the entire history content of a learning platform. Now, someone else will have to insert my changes into the website. If this will be done, kids will learn much easier and the entire structure will make much more sense. Looking forward to the final result, but it is not in my hands anymore.

Also, I got an offer to write parts of a new book for teachers in Bavaria. I agreed to do it, if the salary fits 😉 Another big study comes up, too. I will be involved in a bigger project dealing with textbooks in Germany.  Looking forward to!

As for the madness: I do understand that the US want to see an end of the Israel-Hamas war. There are elections just around the corner…  I just do not understand the so-called plan. We will see what comes out of it.  Certainly, the ongoing attacks on Israel need to stop, whether they come from Hamas terrorists https://www.timesofisrael.com/rocket-volley-fired-from-rafah-targets-tel-aviv-area-in-first-such-attack-in-months/ or the Huthis terrorists in Yemen (like today when Israel was able to destroy a surface-to-surface missile) or from the Hizbollah terrorists in Lebanon https://www.juedische-allgemeine.de/israel/heftige-gewichte-zwischen-hisbollah-und-israel/.

Looking at Germany… I do not understand why authorities accept occupying and destroying buildings, just because they are located on university campuses https://www.spiegel.de/panorama/bildung/humboldt-universitaet-in-berlin-was-die-besetzer-hinterlassen-haben-a-a7e2d565-4b1f-4752-9d30-09c77c1dd3b9

And why certain “speakers” getting publicity in German Universities https://www.juedische-allgemeine.de/politik/hamas-sympathisanten-sollen-an-uni-heidelberg-vortrag-halten/

Universities are there for exchanging ideas, creating knowledge, learning and developing new ideas and not for shouting misanthropic and hateful slogans.

However, two events gave hope… thanks to the 40 000 people marching in London yesterday to support Israel and 50 000 people in New York. Glimmers of hope.
