So, the time has come... the lavender has almost faded and I've just hung up the last bit to dry. I recently saw again that burning lavender is still used. From a spiritual point of view, it is supposed to have a cleansing effect, old ballast is supposed to fall away and space is supposed to be created for new things. Sounds much needed to me!
My week has been super annoying - cleansing is definitely needed. I had to deal with data protection problems up to and including Friday afternoon - now it´s weekend and I hope it will all clear up on Monday.
At a time when every website asks for confirmation, every company has a data protection officer and everyone always has to make sure that they agree to their data being passed on, one of my clients couldn't think of anything better than to simply send out my private address and full name to various people! When I asked the company not to do this, the reaction was even worse!
I was the first to complain and there is no (!) data protection officer. I then did my own research on the Internet and after 30 seconds it was clear who is in charge of data protection for the multi-million company. My client had outsourced the procedure to a law firm. In order to reach a contact person, I actually had to call my client's customer service department and speak to a customer advisor who is actually responsible for selling my client's products. However, she then had a number and I was able to consult the law firm. People there were also of the opinion that the behavior was not compliant with data protection regulations and was generally quite questionable.
The person in charge from my client's company wanted to get back to me by Wednesday, but of course he didn't do so. So, I wrote another email: When will you get back to me? It's urgent. I can't work on the project… and the printing deadline is in November...
Thursday 7:41 pm I received an email in which someone obviously wanted to intimidate me. A law firm (the one I had been in contact with since Monday...) would be in touch with me on this. This is a standard procedure and they would continue to do so in future, giving out private addresses and names. My reply followed immediately, 8 minutes later: The law firm and I had already consulted. They agreed with me on all points. You have to protect my data. –
What happened next is so typical... I received an automatic reply that my contact person, who had written to me 7 minutes ago, is on vacation until 29 September.
What cowardice!
And how disrespectful towards me.
On Friday, the whole thing went even further - now half of the company is busy with questions about data protection and how to deal with external employees. That's fine by me. In fact, the person who is in charge, and who is actually on vacation and unavailable until 29.09., contacted me again by email on Friday afternoon... what am I supposed to think? Yes, exactly that!
So, I wasted about 75% of my energy this week. Time and energy that I would have liked to put into other projects, paid projects and assignments to get me through the winter.

Because I was personally affected, I have to go into Mockridge's sh… again - although, no, I don't have to. He has said and shown everything about this himself and it is clear to everyone what kind of person he and his so-called comedian colleagues are. The profession of “comedian” is surely as protected as “plastic surgeon”, isn't it?
Such behavior is an attitude, a mindset, a conviction. No amount of posts can change that: My opinion of these people is fixed. People don't change. One of my life lessons... only if they are affected themselves. It's not enough that for example the neighbor's daughter is affected - no, only if it affects them, beliefs could be changed. Could. I wish it were different, but unfortunately I've never experienced it.
As I said - after this time, cleaning up from all the madness out there would be appropriate. Let's see what the lavender can contribute 😉
