Upheavals.

It is not just global politics that has been unhinged by Trump this week - once again. No, the topic of upheaval seems to be a recurring theme throughout these times.

Want a few examples?

Canada should become a member of the EU if former German Foreign Minister S. Gabriel has his way: “I would offer the Canadians to become a member of the European Union,“ Gabriel told the Weser-Kurier newspaper from Bremen. According to the long-time SPD politician, partial integration of the country into the EU is also conceivable." (https://www.spiegel.de/politik/kanada-sigmar-gabriel-raet-wegen-drohungen-von-donald-trump-zur-aufnahme-in-die-eu-a-ca225e22-9497-4b42-974e-26536287de20) - If anyone should like this crazy idea, here is a little tip from me: Don't do it! You are better off without the EU. You can see from us what this know-it-all monster of bureaucracy and arrogance does to countries.

NTV even sees us transported back to the 1930s when it says: “Shortly after the Republican US president implemented the historic increase in tariffs, a member of the opposition Democrats in Congress is outraged: “We cannot afford to destroy our foreign trade to allow American manufacturers to pick the pockets of consumers.” Stock markets slump dramatically, exports fall to their lowest level for years. The tariff hammer is making “practically everything a person uses in everyday life more expensive, from diapers for their baby to tombstones” for their loved ones, the opposition MP rages. He does not know how the “overburdened masses” can shoulder these additional burdens in the face of the exploding cost of living.

The president in question is not Donald Trump, but Herbert Hoover. It is not the year 2025, but 1930. These words could almost as easily have been spoken this week in the US House of Representatives. But they come from Jacob Milligan, who almost a hundred years ago warned of the dramatic consequences of an unprecedented tariff increase that had just been passed: the Smoot-Hawley Act.” (https://www.n-tv.de/wirtschaft/Donald-Trump-schickt-die-Welt-zurueck-in-die-30er-Jahre-article25681580.html). -

As if people have learned nothing at all!

Speaking of nothing learned... an anti-Semite is allowed to continue spreading her hatred in the name of the UN for years to come because of the silence also of our managing Foreign Minister (https://www.timesofisrael.com/anti-israel-un-investigator-keeps-mandate-despite-push-for-removal-by-us-eu-lawmakers/). And Ms. Baerbock is also responsible for the fact that she leaves fantasies of annihilation against Israel unanswered by one Turkish specific politician (https://www.juedische-allgemeine.de/meinung/das-selektive-schweigen-und-reden-der-annalena-baerbock/). Perhaps she did not understand the concept of reasons of state (Staatsräson - Reason of State) - but now she does not need to, we have got rid of her. However, she still wants to work for the UN - so it is no surprise that she does not contradict Jew-hatred.

Well, least one person seems to have learned something. This is also a change, but in this case, it has a positive connotation. D. Niebel, former Federal Minister for Development, has given a very interesting interview on the subject of UNWRA, Baerbock and the UN (https://www.juedische-allgemeine.de/israel/die-unrwa-ist-komplett-von-der-hamas-durchseucht/), in which he stressed, that “UNWRA completely infested by Hamas” – although he worked for years with the organization when he was in office. I am only reproducing the most interesting passage here:

“Given this (the fact that Hamas and UNWRA are inextricably linked, note of the author), how is it that the German government, which is still in office, is so vehemently in favor of supporting UNRWA with German taxpayers' money?

That is the big question. Federal Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock has publicly stated in the press that she would rather resign than stop funding UNRWA. Perhaps this was done in the knowledge that she would head the United Nations General Assembly as President in the future? Can I now call that an entrance fee? She is buying her new job as a follow-up so that she can continue to shine internationally. That is shabby.

Is it even legally permissible to use taxpayers' money to support an institution that encourages terrorism?

It is absolutely clear: the Federal Budget Code stipulates - and this is a law - that no terrorist institutions or activities may be financed from tax revenue. According to the letter of this law, UNRWA may no longer be funded.”

In view of all these upheavals and the fact that I still cannot talk about everything because the mills of bureaucracy grind so slowly, I will hold back with information about my work and refer to the biggest upheaval of these days:

Spring is here!
