When dawn broke on June 6, 1944…

This week we celebrated the beginning of the end of the Second World War (1939-1945) and the end of the National socialist oppression of Europe, so-called D-Day. During the festivities the veterans and their sacrifices were celebrated. It was a very emotional and graceful event. Unfortunately the entire ceremony was talked to death by so-called experts in German television.

These experts were so disrespectful to compare the superhuman sacrifice of the former Allies with a current localised war! The whole time they only talked about Ukraine and muted the ceremony.

I understand that some Germans are uncomfortable talking about the Second World War, I also understand that they prefer to point to other aggressors and distract from themselves, but I don't understand why this happens on TV! I was so angry - I still am. I called the editorial team at NTV and vented my anger. How disrespectful and oblivious to history can one be. It's a disgrace.

If you haven’t yet, please have a look at the latest documentary about the events of June 1944. You can watch it here: https://www.ardmediathek.de/video/ard-history/24-h-d-day/das-erste/Y3JpZDovL2Rhc2Vyc3RlLmRlL2dlc2NoaWNodGUtaW0tZXJzdGVuLzIwMjQtMDUtMjdfMjAtMTUtTUVTWg

It is very moving absolute worthwhile to watch!

I would like to express my personal gratitude that I was able to grow up and live in a free Germany and Europe. Thank you very much, heroes.

“Remembering, means we don’t forget, and have not fought in vain;

Recalling what could once more be if we forgot the pain;

It means that we still heed the signs from some oppressive reign;

And keep our strength and will to fight, so we need not fight again.”

By Mervyn Kersh, who served as a Private with the Ordnance Corps.

He landed on 9 June 1944, D+3.

Other that that, my week was fully packed with meetings and work. I signed contracts for two new projects I will do over summer. I am very much looking forward. I will tell more about one of the projects, once I am allowed to. It is such an important work I was asked to do.

Oh, finally the video producers began to work again on my video scripts! One of my new videos is already online 😊 It is about the “Investiture Controversy”  (in German: Investiturstreit) in the Middle Ages. The climax of the conflict between the papacy and the empire. You can watch it here: https://learnattack.de/geschichte/weltliche-gegen-christliche-macht

All other things I mentioned in the last weeks are still in the pipeline…Come on colleagues, do not let me wait any longer. Go back to work, please!

PS: I have taken the picture the last time when I flew to Canada.
